Springtime

It’s wonderful to see that Spring is just around the corner, the flower stalls are full of daffodils, the days are getting longer which means that when I walk the dogs it is still light.

The beginning of March is also a busy month in the house for birthdays, which is a great excuse to try out new local restaurants to celebrate.

This past week we have eaten out at Thali & Pickles, which is Indian street food in Balham and Platform 1 in East Dulwich, a restaurant solely, used as a pop-up base for up and coming Chefs.  You can find my feedback on my FB page.

As a birthday treat, I booked an interior designer to come and visit Parklands and give me some lessons in colour.

I had an amazing two-hour consultation, I was given some useful tips and it also made me think outside the box when I was next planning to decorate the rooms.

One thing that shone through was I needed to put more mirrors in the house to bring in the light and give a reflection.  One of my passions is putting together mood boards before I decorate a room and also seeing if I can up cycle some furniture or make new cushion covers.

I have been following a great B&B in Torquay who uses bold colours in their rooms and is about to launch their own video (No.25.co.uk).

I have decided that I will take a couple of days out this Spring and visit the Torquay Riviera and book myself in for a night or two just to enjoy the experience.

It’s a good thing to go and stay in another B&B as you can pick up some great tips.
